A Very Proud Mama
Levi, my oldest child, asked Saul and myself if he could talk to us after church Wednesday night (March 11, 2009). So after church Levi and Saul went for a drive for a talk. About 15 minutes later Saul came in and said Levi wants to be baptized. I was overcome with emotion. I couldn't believe this was going to happen. We all got back into the vehicle and drove down to the church building. We called one of our elders and his wife to come down to see Levi get baptized. When we arrived at the building there was still one couple still there and we asked them if they would like to stay. Saul and Levi went back and got changed into different clothes. I saw Saul walking down the stairs into the water and he was gasping like it was cold. Well turned out the heater the heats the water was not working so it was cold and the night it was in the 30's outside. So as I saw my oldest baby come down those stairs and it really hit me that my baby is not a baby anymore. Saul baptized him and I just cried like a baby. I was so proud of him. After he came out from drying off and changing I hugged him and he was crying too. I was soooo proud of him.

The Last Months Happenings
Once again I haven't posted for awhile.
Avva is doing ok. She hasn't started her shots yet. She will start them on April 5. I am looking forward for the hormal outburst from her to stop. I really do feel so bad for her. She doesn't and can't understand whats going on to her body. Hopefully the shots will work for her.
Zion got the A Honor roll again for the 4th six weeks in a row. Zion had to change teachers a week or two after they went back after Christmas break. The other 2 teachers just had too many kids in their classes. So they hired a new teacher and randomly took kids from the 2 classes. And they chose Zion. Zion's original teacher was very upset about this. She really likes Zion. He is her favorite. Zion was a little upset, but has really done well. His original teacher and I talked last week and we both have noticed some changes in him that he is kinda down and we thinks about this change. He still has her for an hour and a half a day for Spelling and Reading. It hasn't effected his grades at all which I am glad.
Levi is doing really well too. He got the A Honor roll again also for the 4th six weeks. His teacher said he is so smart. She would like for him to be tested for Gifted and Talented classes. So I am hoping that will happen soon. He just took the TAKS test yesturday. He was really excited to take it and was sure that he was going to do well. Saul and I had no worries either. Levi came home from school yesturday and said "I am sure that I aced the test".
I am not sure if the boys are going to play baseball this year. They have both said that they don't want to. You never know they may change their minds when sign up time comes.
As for me...well....I started a job at the post office. I clean it Monday thru Friday. I do enjoy it. I have been working there just almost a month. I am also cleaning my bosses house every other Friday. I also clean a beauty salon here in town. I have done that for about 9 months now.
I did something that I am still can't believe that I had the nerve to do. I have had a dream to be on The Biggest Loser. Yah I know that sounds strange, but I have tried so many times to try to lose this weight on my own and I can't seem to do it. I have lost some, but I still have ALOT to go. I saw a couple a weeks ago the there was a casting call for The Biggest Loser in Dallas, TX on Feb 28 at Dave and Busters. So I decided to try. Myself and a friend went and stood in the FREEZING COLD for 4 1/2 hours til we were let thru the door. We were let in by groups of 30. We got in and they told us to eat or play the games til our group number was called. Finally after a hour and half waiting patiently and nervously our group was called. We were broken into groups of 10. We were put around a table facing a producer for the Biggest Loser. He(DJ was his name)went around the table and had us tell him and the others our name, age, occupation and where we were from. Then when we were done he asked us why we wanted to be on The Biggest Loser. There was a 400 and something pound lady that wanted to lose weight so she could be a stripping pole dancer. Our and DJ's jaw just dropped. DJ said he had never responded with that answer. Anyway, when it came to me I was so nervous I almost froze. I had rehearsed in my mind all morning what I was goin to say. Guess what I didn't say anything even close to what I was going to say. After everyone responded DJ said that if we were going to get a call back that we would get it that night by 11 pm. If we don't he said if you still want this then send him a video tape of our reason for wanting this oppurtunity. I didn't get a call back so this week I am going to make a tape. If I still don't make it then I will at least know that I tried. This is an experience that I will never forget. And I am very appreciated to my friend that went with me and stood in the cold and shared the experience with me. I will never forget her for that.
Sorry no pictures this time.

TOTALLY IN SHOCK BUT THANKFUL
I'm sorry I haven't blogged in awhile. I really did plan on trying to keep up with this, but I guess it is like everything else in life sometimes it has be put on the back burner.
We had a great Christmas with Saul's family. Great food, gifts, conversation and (lol) entertainment.
It was great to have Levi and Zion home for 2 weeks from school. I was a little sad they had to go back. They were really looking forward to returning to school. I am so proud of them both in all of their accomplishments in school. Especially being on the straight A honor roll for 3 six weeks straight.
As for Avva she is my sweet princess that is just as talented and intelligent as her brothers. She just amazes me everyday what she knows and understands.
Some of yall already know what Avva has gone through for the last week. There may be some that don't so I will tell you. This will shock you it did me and Saul. Last week on Wednesday Avva came out from the bathroom with her pants down around her ankles and said "Mama I need to show you something weird." I was not really sure what I was in for. A spider, a spit wad( the boys like to make those and throw them on the ceiling sometimes)or maybe just the fact that her poop was a different color. You never know with a 4 year old. I walk in the bathroom and she showed me the blood in the toilet. I got really scared. I checked her and noticed she was bleeding vaginally. I took her to the doctor first thing in the morning. The doctor was just in shock and said I am just not sure what is going on. We were sent to Waco to the hospital for an ultrasound to find out where for sure the bleeding was coming from and hopefully why. The next morning(Friday) very early I got a call from the doctor and said we think there is a tumor on your daughters right ovary. I just started to cry and almost couldn't finish the the conversation with the doctor. She said we need you to go ASAP to Temple, TX to the Scott & White hospital for further testing and a room is waiting for you and along with 4 doctors. I said did you say room. She said yes Avva will be staying in the hospital til the doctors find out fully what is going on and it is fully treated. So I quickly packed a bag and naturally I forgot a few things. We got there and Saul and I were just beside ourselves. Avva had about every test they could do on someone done on her and she was soooooo brave and soooo good thru it all. There was new faces everyday and she handled that very well too. All the staff and doctors were soo good to her. She had 9 different doctors trying to figure out what was going on. A Pediatric Endocrinologist was called in from Austin. She asked me numerous questions about her about about all of mine and Saul's medical history. She looked at me and said very seriously and said we are pretty sure that there is a tumor on your daughters brain. She please don't worry about this it will be ok. I wanted to say it is not ok this is my baby and your telling me there might be a tumor on here brain. An MRI done on her head and it came back clean and no tumor on her brain. I just fell down and cried and was so thankful. The doctor said we have figured out what is wrong and it is called PRECOCIOUS PUBERTY. This means that her pituitary gland and another gland above that is above that one(can't remember the name) has began to the signal down to the ovaries to begin to produced hormones and to begin puberty. She will be taking shots once a month for the next 6 to 8 years or whenever the doctor decides for her to begin puberty again. The shots will hopefully stop and delay this. There is a chance that it will not. An x-ray has shown that her bones have began to grow because of the hormones and she has 6 year old bones. Remember she just turned 4 DEC 20th. Saul and I are just in shock, but thankful that she doesn't have any tumors(she does tho have cysts on her right ovary, but the doctors at this point is not worried about them). Avva and I spent 4 days in the hospital and very thankful to be home. I saw so many babies and children so much sicker than Avva and made me feel that others do have it worse. Like I said Avva will be receiving shots every month for the next few years until the doctor decides she can begin puberty again. She will be having blood test done every 3 months to make sure her hormone levels are not rising. She will also have x-rays done every 6 months to make sure her bones are growing right and not too fast like that have began to. So please keep Avva and our family in your prayers. If any of you would like to know a little more about this just call me or email me I would be happy to talk further about this. 254-796-4355 or my cell 318-547-9065

Christmas Singing Program
Levi and Zion both had a Christmas singing program on Tuesday. Zion's class sang 3 songs and they did so good. You could tell that he was a little nervous, but he did so good. Levi's class sang 4 songs and in the third song a few of the kids sang a solo. Levi was
one of them. I didn't really know that Levi could sing as well as he did. It made me cry. Many people around me that didn't know him or me were just in ahhh about how well he sang.
I am so proud of both of them.
Levi is in the light blue shirt with the tie at the microphone.

The Past Few Weeks Happenings

I know it has been awhile since I have posted and I am very sorry. I am sorry how the picture arrangemenets came out. I am still learning how to use blogger.
Levi and Zion both got the A honor roll again this 2nd 6 weeks. Time is really going by sooo fast. I really am soo proud of my boys.
Avva has lately been writing the same letters over and over again on any piece of paper she can find. The letter are P, F, L, H, G, B, M, and Z. Something funny about her is if you write her name like Avva and not like AVVA then she says it is not her name. She really is becoming very articulate in her speech and the things that come out of her mouth you would think that she was so much older. And she has a really good memory.
All the kids are really looking forward to christmas. The boys really want a XBOX 360 or possibly a WII. We will see. It seems that it is getting harder to figure out gifts to buy for the boys. Their likes and dislikes of theirs change almost daily.
I really do enjoy christmas time and all the lights and decorations and even the music. I am hoping to get the tree and decorations up sometime before the week is over.
My family and I enjoyed Thanksgiving with Saul's family. We had Thanksgiving at Jordan's house. We had LOTS of good food. I ate way too much. I really enjoyed all the conversations and time I spent with the family. I got to see Saul's cousins that I have only seen a time or two. They are such wonderful, happy, well behaved kids and I so much enjoyed the time that I got to spend with them getting to know them a little more. Lord willing I will have many more opportunities to get to visit with them and get to know them more and more. Over all it was a great holiday time.
I am really am looking forward to many more times with spending time with family. Because I know life is soooo short and it can end at anytime. I really do treasure the times that I do spend with family.
Levi turned 9 the day afer Thanksgiving. We had a short little party at Jordan's house with Saul's family. Levi said it was the best birthday he had ever had. That makes me so happy. I am sad tho that my baby is growing up, but I am looking forward to him changing and growing and eventually make a life for himself. I pray daily for Levi and for Zion and Avva that they will make the right decisions in life. I know eventually I will have to realize that it will be them to make their on choices. I hope Saul and I will have given them all they need to make those right choices.

A Very Short Vacation
We decided to go visit Saul's parents this last weekend. We left about 1:00PM on Saturday and ate in Granbury for lunch at Babe's. It was really good. We then headed up to Valley View, TX where his parents live. The kids did really well traveling. We were about 5 minutes from my in-laws house when 2 vehicles in front of us had a tire blow out and a second tire totaly broke off. He started swirving and the vehicle behind that, which was between us and the swirving vehicle slammed on their brakes and started to scream. I was sure we were going to have a wreak. The truck fianlly went off the road trying to not flip. We pulled off and made sure he was ok and helped him find the tires that came flying off. Finally the police and fire trucks got there and then we left still a little shakin up.
We finally made it to my in-laws and visited a little while. Saul and I had already planned on having 'a date'. Saul's mom had agreed to watching the kids so we could go. It had been almost 2 years since we had 'a date'. We went to the movies and saw EAGLE EYE. Come to find out that Saul's mom had taken the kids to Madagascar 2 at the same movie theater. We didn't know til we got back to their house. We visted a little bit longer and then checked in to the motel about 11:30 Saturday night. We were all exhausted and ready to just fall into bed.
We awoke Sunday morning got dressed and went to church with where Saul's dad preaches. After chirch we ate lunch at a Mexican resturant in Sanger. It was really good. We left straight from there and headed down the road and decided to go to Cabela's. We had never been there and really wanted to see it. The place was huge with alot of stuffed dead animals, guns, fishing gear, camping gear and even real fish. Oh did I say guns. I have never seen that many guns in my life. We all really enjoyed it. I had wished I had brought my camerea. We left and then headed down the road and ended up in Itasca, TX. We drove around a long time just trying to waste time so we could go to church that night. We went to church and and then headed home fianlly! Got back about 9:00 PM Sunday night and was glad to be home. We wished we would have had more time, but the kids had school on Monday. Maybe sometime soon we can again. It was nice to get away from the normal for a day or two.

Trick or Treating
All three of the kids were so excited about Halloween and getting to dress up. Levi dressed up as a Scull Ninja. Zion was a glow-in-the-dark skeleton. Avva was a Princess, of course. The boys got to wear their costumes to school. I wished I could have taken a picture of their faces when I told them that they were allowed to wear their costumes to school. Avva had said the day before that she was going to wear her princess dress all day too like the boys. She really surprised me that she was not going to wear it til we were fixen to leave to pick up the boys from school. I fixed her hair in what she calls 'ballarina hair' and put my make-up on her. She was so patient when I was making her face up. I messed up on her lips 3 times and had to start over. She never wined or complained once on how long it was taking.
We went and picked up the boys from and school and they were so ready to go trick or treating. The local down town shops here in Hico always on Halloween will give out candy. They do this for safety concerns and I really do like that. It is kinda strange to trick or treat when it is light out, but I am not complaining. It was soo hot, but the kids only complained a few times.
Once we got back home they were already pouring out their candy to trade each other. I think that they were on a candy high for most of the evening. Today I have allowed to eat as much as they want. They actually have been some what responsible with it. Well Levi and Zion has been. Avva has taken a piece everytime she walks by.
I am glad to have it all over with. Except the fact that there is candy there to tempt me with. I have worked so hard on losing weight I am really trying to resisit the temptation.
